Down Syndrome Association for Families to Host Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk

On October 5, Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF; dsafnebraska.org) will host their 18th annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk at Antelope Park. Festivities begin at 8 a.m. and the one-mile walk will kick off at approximately 9:30 a.m. This event is Lincoln’s premier Down Syndrome awareness and education event that celebrates individuals with Down Syndrome while showing the critical role they can and do play in our community.

Each year, this even brings out over 1,600 attendees to show their support of friends and loved ones. The walk is DSAF’s primary fundraiser and proceeds support a vast array of programs, partnerships, resources, and networking opportunities that help individuals with Down Syndrome and their families. DSAF formed in 1995 as a way for parents to network and share the accomplishments and challenges of their children.

It takes a village and a lot of resources to put on such a large event. To support Down Syndrome Association for Families’ mission by becoming a sponsor, go online to ds-stride.org/dsafstepup.
