DSAF Announces 2020 Education Series Topics
The Down Syndrome Association for Families of Nebraska (DSAF) (dsafnebraska.org/edseries) is excited to announce the release of the 2020 Educational Series topics. Launched in August 2019, this widely successful and informative series provides free monthly training and education for parents of children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome. Friends, families, educators, and other providers are also welcome. New 2020 courses include:
- January 21: DD Qualification and Medicaid – How & When to Apply
- February 18: Improving Fine Motor Skills
- March 17: IEP Workshop – A Review of Your IEP Components
- April 21: Special Olympics Offerings to Individuals with Ds
- May 19: Self Advocacy-What It Is and How Do I Become One
- June 16: Speech Disorders and Children with Down Syndrome
- July 21: Emergency Preparedness (How to Prepare Your Child)
- August 18: Down Syndrome 101 for Educators
- September 15: Relationships and Intimacy (utilizing the Circles curriculum)
- October 20: A Road Map to Independent Living
- November 17: Social Opportunities in the Community
- December 15: Enable Savings Plan – Why and How to Set It Up
