DSAF to Host 19th Annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk on October 10

On October 10, Down Syndrome Association for Families of Nebraska (DSAF; dsafnebraska.org) will be hosting their 19th annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk. Festivities, including games, live entertainment, food, prizes, princesses and superheroes, and more, begin at 9 a.m. The one-mile walk will kick off at approximately 10:30 a.m. The event will be held at the Lancaster Event Center located at 4100 N 84th St.

The Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk serves as DSAF’s primary fundraiser and largest Down syndrome awareness event in Lincoln. Proceeds support a vast array of programs, partnerships, resources, and networking opportunities that help individuals with Down syndrome and their families feel connected and supported from the moment of diagnosis through adulthood. This year’s event will have special measures in place to ensure the safety of all participants.

Many families who have or are expecting a child with Down syndrome don’t always have reliable support or access to accurate information about Down syndrome. DSAF provides that support and information along with a vision of what a blessing their child will be in their lives.
