The Foundry (thefoundry.co) is still riding the high from last month’s Healing Nebraska: Talent Meets Need event! They had an unprecedented number of students attend this inaugural event, and are beyond grateful for the opportunity to bring behavioral and mental health topics to the next generation of trailblazers.
Healing Nebraska: Talent Meets Need highlighted the impactful work of the Foundry’s Healthy Nebraska Summer 2026 Intern Foundry Cohort and their host organizations, all the while exploring the depth of the field of behavioral health right here in our beautiful state. Students and professionals alike walked away having engaged in meaningful conversations about what it means to live in a climate where the importance of mental and behavioral health awareness is invaluable.
Healing Nebraska heard from National Association of Behavioral Health Organizations’ Executive Director, Nicki Behmer-Popp, and facilitated important discussions about mental health because we know the future of mental and behavioral health rests in the hands of our emerging generations, who will make all the difference.
In partnership with UNMC, BHECN, UNL Honors, and Abbott, Intern Foundry Coordinator Merrick Mason did an amazing job organizing this event, providing students with an opportunity to engage in important discussions, explore career options and create community within the first few weeks of the school year.
