Fresh Start Welcomes New Board Members
As we begin 2016, Fresh Start (Freshstarthome.org) is excited to announce six new incredible members on its Board of Directors.
Christine Dahl – Staff Pharmacist, Kohll’s
Chris Peterson – Corporate Lawyer, Wolfe, Snowden, Hurd, Luers, & Ahl, LLP
Denise Robeson – Community Volunteer
Emily Green – Case Manager, NE DHHS
Liz Gebhart – Chronic Health Evaluation Coordinator, NE DHHS
Susan Wortmann – Professor, Nebraska Wesleyan University
We asked Liz and Chris to tell us why they joined.
Liz Gebhart said, “I learned about transitional housing and service delivery through a previous job. Their invaluable services and the clients they serve allowed me better to understand issues surrounding homelessness, and it has since become a passion of mine. The mission of Fresh Start, in addition to the energetic and collaborative board of directors, solidified my desire to join their board. I’m thrilled about the opportunity to give back to the community, to promote the mission of a needed organization and do my part to end help homelessness.”
Chris Peterson said, “I have always felt that we have a responsibility to give something back to the communities of which we are a part. Service on the Fresh Start Board is the perfect opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on the Lincoln community for a worthwhile cause.”
Fresh Start is a transitional shelter that empowers homeless women to change their lives by recognizing and utilizing their strengths to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency!
