On Sunday, October 13, Friendship Home (friendshiphome.org) will host its 22nd Annual Safe Quarters event. On this day, hundreds of Friendship Home volunteers will head out to Lincoln neighborhoods to knock on every household door and collect financial contributions for survivors of domestic violence, all while raising awareness of the life-saving services Friendship Home provides.
Safe Quarters is Friendship Home’s largest annual fundraiser. In 2023, over $80,000 was raised, and as a result, Friendship Home was able to save and change the lives of over 1,600 survivors of domestic violence. Funds collected during Safe Quarters go towards Friendship Home’s mission to provide safe, confidential shelter, crisis services and ongoing support for families who have experienced domestic violence and are rebuilding their lives.
To access safe emergency shelter and services, call Friendship Home’s helpline at (402) 437-9302. To learn more about their services, go to friendshiphome.org. For questions and/or more information about Safe Quarters, contact Whitney at whitneyw@friendshiphome.org or (402) 434-0167.
