Friendship Home’s Stuff the Bus Moves Online to Support Domestic Violence Victims

For the safety of their staff and volunteers, Friendship Home (www.FriendshipHome.org) is moving their 21st Annual Stuff the Bus fundraiser to an online platform, likely in late July. Although the feel of the event will be different, the need to “stuff” the virtual bus with essential items remains the same. Donations are critical to the more than 1,500 women and children that Friendship Home serves each year to empower freedom from domestic violence.

Many of us take the comfort and safety of home for granted in this time of social distancing, but for some, home is the most dangerous place on Earth. Domestic violence definitely didn’t stop for COVID-19 and, in fact, oftentimes escalates due to additional stressors. With this in mind, Friendship Home wants to assure those in Lancaster County that they are continuing to provide crisis services, emergency shelter, and transitional housing to victims of domestic violence and their children. Their shelter doors remain open, and the crisis line remains available 24/7.
