Gateway Sertoma Golf Event June 11 to Support Tabitha Meals on Wheels Benefits

On Friday, June 11, grab some friends and join Tabitha (Tabitha.org/give/events/golf) for the 19th year of their annual Gateway Sertoma golf tournament at NuMark Golf Course. The event will benefit the more than 500 friends and neighbors who rely on the daily meal and safety check that Tabitha Meals on Wheels delivers. The four-person golf scramble features games, hold prizes, food, and drink. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start for the golf tournament at 12:30 p.m. and awarding of prizes at 5:30 p.m. Team fees include golf, golf carts, and boxed lunches for participants.

Founded in 1961, Gateway Sertoma is a service club in Lincoln. The group’s mission of “service to mankind” motivates members to volunteerism and fundraising for community programs in needs, including Tabitha Meals on Wheels.

Tabitha Meals on Wheels began in 1967 as the first service of its kind in Lincoln. Today, they serve a hot noon meal to more than 500 clients daily, 365 days a year. Unlike many other Meals on Wheels programs around the country, Tabitha continues to say yes to all those needing this lifeline service, regardless of their circumstances or resources, and has not capped program numbers despite a 62% growth rate in the last 10 years.
