Gifts to The Gathering Place Matched in December

Thanks to a generous donor, all donations received for The Gathering Place (www.communityactionatwork.org) through December 31st will be matched 1:1.

The Gathering Place is a soup kitchen based in Lincoln, just two blocks south of the Nebraska State Capitol Building, that serves hot evening meals Monday through Friday to those struggling with hunger. Last year, The Gathering Place served over 25,000 meals. Of these meals, 30% were served between the months of October and December, demonstrating an increased need for meals during the holiday months.

“Food insecurity is especially prevalent this time of year,” said Vi See, Executive Director of Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties, the organization that oversees operations at The Gathering Place. “Thank you to our match sponsor and to the Lincoln community for considering a gift to The Gathering Place to ensure that the most vulnerable people in Lincoln have access to a hot meal this holiday season.”

You can bring joy and nourishment to Gathering Place guests this holiday season!

Donations can be sent to Community Action, Attn: Gathering Place, 210 O Street, Lincoln, NE 68508 or made online at www.communityactionatwork.org.
