Goodwill Releases 2020 Annual Report

Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc. (www.lincolngoodwilll.org) recently released their 2020 Annual Report. For 89 years, they have been strengthening the Lincoln community by providing services for individuals who face barriers to employment. In 2020, those services were needed more than ever.

Goodwill remained committed to the health and safety of donors, shoppers, employees, and program participants. Even when retail locations were closed, their Job Connection Center continued to deliver core mission services and programs through online and virtual platforms. Employment Specialists guided community members, as well as Goodwill’s own employees, through unemployment filings, job search, and other resources.

Goodwill continued recycling efforts through donation drives, unattended donation bins and their home pick up program, diverting over 2.2 million pounds of materials from the landfill.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, meaningful partnerships within the community were made to help people get much-needed resources. For example, Goodwill donated over 900 tote bags to Lincoln Public Schools for students to prepare for remote learning. They also donated cotton materials to volunteers in the community that were sewing masks for frontline workers. Most importantly, Goodwill served more than 2,000 Southeast Nebraskans with employment-related services.
