HopeSpoke Cancels Upcoming Events, Calls for Support During Community Crisis

Due to safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus, HopeSpoke (hopespoke.org) has canceled their Gourmet Comfort Classic event scheduled for May 8. HopeSpoke is following local, state, and national emergency response directives asking everyone to limit the number of people gathering together.

Last year, the Gourmet Comfort Classic raised over $70,000 to support HopeSpoke’s mission of inspiring healthy futures for children and families through comprehensive behavioral and mental health services. HopeSpoke is committed to doing their very best to serve the behavioral and mental health needs of those in and around Lincoln. HopeSpoke served 1,700 people of all ages during the last fiscal year.

HopeSpoke board and staff members are asking for the help to sustain services now as they make many program adjustments to continue to meet critical mental health needs today and in the future. Everyone is invited to make a gift at this time in lieu of attending a special event. Please consider what you might have spent and/or donated at this year’s event—$75 per event ticket, $150 or more for auction items, or $250 or more as a donation to support their mission. Gifts of all sizes will be greatly appreciated. Please give online now at hopespoke.org/home/donate, or mail your gift to HopeSpoke at 2444 O St., Lincoln, NE  68510.

HopeSpoke continues to support the community through their compassionate services. Go online to hopespoke.org to read their letter to the community thanking this year’s restaurants and sponsors, and learn about their success helping one child and family at a time! Through kind gifts like yours, HopeSpoke will continue playing an invaluable role in providing children and families with the skills to feel empowered and be successful—helping them to heal, be courageous, and find strength to live well.
