Hundreds of Nebraskans to Gather in York November 14 for NCF’s Annual Celebration

Hundreds of ambitious Nebraskans from across the Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) (NebraskaHometown.org) network will convene at York’s Holthus Convention Center on Thursday, November 14 to celebrate a milestone 25th anniversary and the long list of achievements occurring across the state at the hand of this growing grassroots network.

NCF’s Annual Celebration features an all-day training session centered on topics on the minds of the organization’s 1,500 volunteers like fundraising; marketing; impact grantmaking; and community, economic, and leadership development. NCF’s training practices deviate from the traditional expert-led model and favor a peer-centered approach.

The 2019 Annual Celebration also features a hometown expo where community leaders can display evidence of their community building work and a banquet in the evening which will feature volunteer speakers from Ogallala, McCook, and Nebraska City as well as a live performance of songs from The Dream Switch, a new original song cycle written by the award-winning, Nebraska-based musical theatre team Becky Boesen and David von Kampen.

“We’re all fighting the same fight, although our challenges might be a little different. It always refuels my excitement for pushing forward.” Said an attendee from previous years.
