Since 2012, Visionary Youth (visionaryouth.org) has been a beacon of hope for youth and families facing financial challenges as they navigate some of the most challenging times of the year, including the holiday seasons. For many of our neighbors, the holidays can be an especially difficult time as parents look for ways to make the holidays special for their children while dealing with the demands of meeting everyday essential needs.
Now in its 7th year, the Community Holiday Toy Giveaway on Monday, Dec. 15 eases this burden by welcoming parents and guardians from more than 650 families to come and pick out gifts for youth. Every child should feel special at the holidays. The VY community comes together each year to help make that possible for families that may be struggling. As demand and costs rise, Visionary Youth is calling on the community to help make this effort possible.
There are several ways you can make an impact:
- Financial Sponsorship: Every donation counts, big or small, and helps VY reach more families in need.
- Toy Donations: Keep an eye out around town for VY Help a Star Shine donation sites where you can donate toys or check out the VY website for a list of toys needed and a link to the VY Amazon Wish List.
- Volunteer: It takes a village to make this event possible, make a difference with your time and energy.
