The Lincoln Children’s Museum (lincolnchildrensmuseum.org) in partnership with Rooted in Relationships Lancaster County are partnering together again to offer the Kindergarten Ready program throughout the summer. This program is a self-guided day-play program that offers a roadmap through the Lincoln Children’s Museum with activities that align with Nebraska State of Education Association Early Learning Guidelines.

The museum’s Director of Operations and Engagement Mandy Haase-Thomas is eager to roll out the red carpet again for in-coming Kindergartners.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest from parents of younger children that want to take advantage of programming that incorporates learning through play,” said Mandy. “This is an easy way to facilitate an opportunity for caregivers and their upcoming Kindergartener. It’s a creative way to ease into the kindergarten curriculum without the formal classroom-style learning just yet.”

This program is reserved to children that will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2022 and does not require any pre-registration. All Kindergarten Ready activities are included with admission day-of and free for members.

From now until mid-August, visitors can inquire about the Kindergarten Ready program at the museum’s welcome desk. Participants will receive the program booklet with “assignments” throughout the museum. Once completed, they will receive a prize bag, along with a certificate of completion and cap-and-gown photo opportunity. To learn more, visit lincolnchildrensmuseum.org/kindergarten-ready.
