Lincoln G.O.L.D. to Host Inaugural Scholarship Gala

Lincoln G.O.L.D. (lincolngold.orga new non-profit serving youth in Lincoln, NE, is set to host its inaugural Scholarship Gala on March 19th. To be held at The Cornhusker, A Marriott Hotel, the fundraising event will support local youth in pursuing a college education.

The mission of Lincoln G.O.L.D. is twofold; not only is it a valuable mentorship program, but the end goal is to raise money for college scholarships for boys and girls who would greatly benefit from the assistance. Scholarships are available on EducationQuest.org and also available through each public and private high school in Lincoln. Established in September of 2015, Lincoln G.O.L.D. (Girls Organization for Leadership and Development) is a non-profit organization providing a mentorship program for Lincoln area girls who are currently high school seniors and juniors. Meetings are held twice monthly, with one dedicated to educational classes that prepare the girls for college covering topics such as finance, leadership, etiquette, and composing a resume. The second is focused on philanthropic projects including volunteering at the local food bank, making blankets for Project Linus, fundraising for Huskers Helping the Homeless, and many more. There are currently 31 girls participating in the program in 2015-16.
