Lincoln Heart Ball Highlights American Heart Month
Mark your calendar for Feb. 18, 2017, as the American Heart Association brings the annual Lincoln Heart Ball to The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel. Chaired by Jeff Noordhoek, Christy Phillips and Shawn Traudt, the Lincoln Heart Ball is the annual black-tie optional gala benefiting the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Over 400 individuals from Lincoln’s business, medical and social communities are expected to attend the gala, which is themed “Playing For Your Heart.”
Tables and individual tickets are on sale now at www.heart.org/lincolnheartball. For information on sponsorship opportunities, contact Kerry Massey at (402) 875-7382 or kerry.massey@heart.org.
The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction and cocktails then moves on to a plated dinner. The Heart Hero children and a survivor will be honored during the Heart Ball, which celebrates the American Heart Association’s work and mission, and the lives saved and improved because of our donors and volunteers.
The 2016 Lincoln Heart Ball raised over $180,000 for the American Heart Association. In the past five years (2011-15), the American Heart Association has funded 29 studies in Nebraska at a cost of $4,096,304 including $2.3 million in 2015.
The Lincoln Heart Ball is just one of many events for the American Heart Association in February, which is American Heart Month. The free Lincoln Red Dress Dash is Feb. 2 and National Wear Red Day is Feb. 3. Visit the American Heart Association – Nebraska Facebook page at www.facebook.com/HeartNebraska for more information.
