Loaves and Fishes, Lulu’s on N Awarded $10K Grant from Great Western Bank

Loaves and Fishes, the nonprofit arm of Lulu’s on N which exists to walk alongside downtown Lincoln’s homeless population and offers them food, support, and basic hygiene items, is the recipient of a $10,000 Making Life Great Grant from Great Western Bank. President of Loaves and Fishes and Lulu’s on N, Karen Lamb, was honored to accept the big check on December 1. The Making Life Great Grants are designed to assist worthy nonprofits within Great Western Bank’s nine-state footprint with innovative programs that enhance the quality of life. This grant is a huge gift to Lulu’s on N as it will provide them with the necessary means to feed hundreds of people in need, and it will allow them to expand their services beyond Downtown Lincoln, and partner with much larger community groups.

Currently, through their community meal program, Lulu’s on N serves meals three times a week out of St Paul United Methodist church. Community meal hours are 1:30 to 3 p.m., during which guests are able to order any entree from the menu, along with a side item and drink.

LuLu’s on N is a walk-up restaurant and full-service caterer in downtown Lincoln. LuLu’s can take care of all of your holiday baking needs for you, in addition to catering for groups of anywhere from as few as two to three people or as many as 200. Every purchase you make directly supports their mission of feeding the hungry in our community. To place an order, call (531) 500-5579 or email lulusonnst@gmail.com. Learn more at www.lulusonn.com.
