Make Believe Midnight returned to the Lincoln Children’s Museum (lincolnchildrensmuseum.org) on Dec. 31 and welcomed a record-breaking 1,200 visitors, making it one of the busiest and most memorable days of the year for the Museum.
Families arrived throughout the morning to celebrate the New Year in a way designed especially for kids. The Museum was filled with activity, from bubble showers and bubble stomps to hands-on experiences and playful surprises spread across all three levels. Every corner offered something to explore, keeping children engaged and moving from open to close.
As the day unfolded, excitement built toward two key moments. At 11 a.m., magician Evan Card entertained the crowd with a high-energy show that brought laughter and wide-eyed reactions from children and adults alike. At noon, the celebration reached its peak with the Make Believe Midnight balloon drop, as balloons poured down from the upper level and filled the Museum with color and cheers.
The event wrapped up shortly after the balloon drop, sending families home with tired smiles, shared memories, and a joyful start to the New Year… without staying up late.
Make Believe Midnight continues to be a beloved tradition, offering families a meaningful way to celebrate together and begin the year with play, connection, and fun.
