Matt Talbot Celebrates the Holiday Season With La Paz Restaurant

Matt Talbot’s staff (www.mtkserves.org), board and guests celebrated the Christmas season at the annual “Holiday Fiesta” on December 17th.  Nearly 200 guests enjoyed live music, merriment and a delicious Mexican feast prepared and donated by La Paz Restaurant.  Owned by Rick and Julie Holm, La Paz has donated the food for this special event for the past ten years.  In recognition of their years of giving food, compassion, dignity and respect to Lincoln’s homeless during the holiday season, the Holms recently received the Business Award from the Lincoln Homeless Coalition.

“The meal from La Paz is such a treat for all of us, and Rick and Julie have been so generous over the years.  We are truly thankful for their support,” said Susanne Blue, Executive Director.

Serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach is a hunger relief and outreach center for those in need.  Annually Matt Talbot provides more than 110,000 nutritious meals to the hungry in Lincoln and approximately 26,000 homeless prevention services such as transitional housing, case management, drug & alcohol evaluations, life skills classes, nutrition counseling, and help with obtaining vital identification documents.
