Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach Participates in Project Connect Lincoln

Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org) was a proud part of the 11th Project Connect Lincoln on September 20. The one-day event took place at the Pinnacle Bank Arena where the Matt Talbot team educated people who are either at-risk or currently experiencing homelessness, covering critical information such as housing assistance, health care, employment, education, legal assistance, nutrition, and more. The event also provided essential services for free like immunizations, haircuts, meals, health screenings, and job search services.

This year, 450 members of the Lincoln community, including the Matt Talbot team, volunteered to take a step towards ending homelessness and the stigma surrounding those experiencing it. Matt Talbot is determined to defeat hunger and homelessness in the community. They use evidence-based practices to tackle the issues of housing, addiction, and hunger. Their team serves two meals a day, seven days a week to anyone who walks through their doors. Annually, they provide over 100,000 meals to Lincoln’s working poor and homeless.
