Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org) provides a safe space for hope and community, especially during the holiday season. In November, the Director of Hunger Relief and Volunteerism, Victoria O’Neil, worked with families who needed assistance with their Thanksgiving meal to provide a meal kit, which included a variety of traditional Thanksgiving foods. On Thanksgiving Day, a volunteer Hunger Relief team provided and served the Thanksgiving feast.

In December, the organization will host Holiday Around the World on Thursday, December 21. Foods from various cultures will be offered to guests from local restaurants along with other activities. On both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, volunteers will be serving meals for lunch (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) and dinner (5:30-6:30 p.m.). All are welcome!

Community members have worked with staff to provide assistance during the holidays for individuals and families in Matt Talbot’s housing programs. Clients have received assistance with basic needs, transportation, furniture, clothing and Christmas presents for their children.

Donations of gift cards in any amount to local grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, Walmart or Target are needed for housing clients. Please contact Leanne Pelser, Director of Housing and Outreach, at (402) 817-0613 or leanne.pelser@mtko.org with questions or for more information.

For the past 31 years, Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach has been helping individuals and families facing poverty and homelessness find possibilities when things seem impossible. Learn more at mtko.org.
