Matt Talbot’s (mtko.org) 19th annual Feeding the Soul of the City fundraiser was held last month at Wilderness Ridge. This year’s event was a “Chef Showdown,” where Lincoln’s top chefs competed to create the most delicious gourmet bites. During the program, guests watched a short video about two clients in Matt Talbot’s housing programs, highlighting that providing one more chance at recovery and housing can save a life.

All money raised by Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach supports critical outreach and homeless prevention programs that help individuals and families find stability and a place to call home.

“Serving meals is at the heart of our mission, but equally important is ensuring our guests have a safe place to go after our doors close for the evening,” said Alynn Sampson, Executive Director. “This event supports our efforts year round and we are grateful to the community members and sponsors who supported this event.”

Lead Mission Moment sponsors were Cornhusker Property and Union Bank & Trust.

Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach extends an additional thanks to Chef Showdown sponsors Farmer’s Mutual of Nebraska, MBA Apartments and RBC; Happy Hour and Dessert sponsors Ameritas, Sirkdot, Tab Performance and WRK; and table sponsors Assurity, Bloomerang, Bryan Health, Cline Williams, Haberfeld, HBE, LincOne Federal Credit Union, Gail Lorenzen, Jim & Jane Maly, Nelnet, Amanda & Winston Ostergard, Pillar Restaurant Group, Pinnacle Bank, Mike & Jolene Schlemmer and Zelle.
