As Matt Talbot (mtko.org) undergoes a facility expansion, their hunger relief and outreach services continue to fill a critical community need. In 2022, Matt Talbot provided nearly 180,000 meals through onsite prepared meals, emergency food pantries, and distribution of donated high-quality food. There were 80,367 onsite meals provided, which is a 35% increase from the previous year. Additionally, nearly 45,000 outreach and homeless prevention services were also provided last year, an increase from the previous year.
Bold Hope Expands, the facility expansion project that began last year, will strengthen hunger relief and outreach services. This capital campaign includes a north addition to the existing facility and a three-stall garage for storing the agency van and household items for clients. The expansion allows more space to meet with guests, conduct training classes for volunteer teams, and storage of household items for clients moving to an apartment. Construction started in July 2022 and is projected to be finished by summer 2023. This expansion will allow Matt Talbot to continue meeting the needs of the guests they serve.
