Matt Talbot’s “Feeding the Soul of the City” Dinner Postponed to June 4
Based on national and local recommendations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach’s (mtko.org) annual “Feeding the Soul of the City” dinner has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 4 (previously planned for March 26). The fundraising event will be held at the Lincoln Cornhusker Marriott Hotel with a social hour and silent auction from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner and a program. Attendees can plan on the same time, same place, same award winners, and same great mission! This is Matt Talbot’s largest fundraising event which supports continued outreach to the homeless, near homeless, and hungry in Lincoln. Reservations can be made at mtko.org for this special event.
Amidst the many closures and cancellations in Lincoln, the needs of those served at Matt Talbot do not stop, and in fact may increase as the economic situation worsens. With schools closed, an increased number of children and families will come to the facility for meals.
“We are monitoring what the experts are advising and taking necessary precautions during this public health emergency,” said Susanne Blue, executive director. “Our work serving the homeless and near homeless is ongoing during these uncertain times and we appreciate the community’s support. Together we will get through this crisis.”
