The Monarch’s Monopoly Tournament a Success

Thirty tables of Monopoly players competed for a good cause at the 13th Annual Monopoly Tournament on March 20th. This year’s tournament raised over $31,000 for The Monarch Benevolent Care Fund!
Featured speakers were Linda and Greg Sullivan who shared about their dear friend Janet and her experience at The Monarch. The event also included a silent auction with nearly 70 silent auction packages and a grand raffle.

After an hour of serious game play, winners at each table received a prize while those with the least amount received a bag of peanuts. The big winner of the tournament, with over $13,000 in Monopoly earnings in just an hour was Tammy Clowers. Ms. Clowers generously donated back the $100 cash prize.

The Monarch, which is owned and operated by Eastmont, provides end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and collaborates with the six area hospice agencies. Since opening in July 2003, The Monarch has served more than 1,000 people ranging in age from 1 month to over 100 years old and provided more than $1 million in benevolent care.
