Mourning Hope Sells Quilt Tiles to Raise Money for New Grief Center

With construction of the new Mourning Hope Grief Center (mourninghope.org/capitalcampaign/mosaic.html) 65% complete, the nonprofit invites community members to purchase a quilt tile to support the remaining construction efforts while memorializing someone significant in their life. With a gift of $250 or more, you can be part of the Mosaic Quilt that will be featured in the Community Room in the new Center. This piece will reflect the community’s commitment to Lincoln’s bereaved children and families. Donations at all levels will help complete construction of this home that will restore hope and provide healing for those in grief.

Like all nonprofits, Mourning Hope is struggling with this new reality that COVID-19 has unexpectedly thrust upon everyone. The Center’s small-but-mighty team has already seen an increased demand for grief support services and resources. To address this need, staff established a platform of no-cost, virtual grief support groups for families and are offering free, online individual counseling sessions for those who consider Mourning Hope their lifeline.

The aftermath of this crisis is inconceivable, and soon, Mourning Hope will be called upon to address the largest public health threat facing the country in decades. Mourning Hope is needed now, more than ever, as they mitigate this crisis.
