NAM Announces Plans for 14th Annual Nonprofit Summit of the Midlands
The Nonprofit Association of the Midlands (NAM, nonprofitam.org/Summit2020) announced plans for its 14th Annual Nonprofit Summit of the Midlands conference—cohosted by D.A. Davidson—November 12-13, on a virtual platform. The conference theme is “Forward Together” and will bring together people, ideas, and educational resources to connect national and regional thought leaders, staff, and volunteers from the nonprofit sector. The Summit will feature breakout sessions, workshops on a variety of topics of benefit to nonprofit leaders, and presentation of NAM’s Catalyst Award to recognize a leader or organization that has made a prominent impact on the nonprofit community.
The keynote speaker for the 2020 conference is Leslie Crutchfield, executive director for Georgetown Business for Impact at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Leslie is an author, educator, and social-change expert. The core value of Business for Impact is that companies can be a powerful force for good in the world, and the center delivers world-class education, student experiences, and cross-sector collaborations for people, planet, and profit. She teaches corporate social responsibility for Georgetown’s MBA program and nonprofit leadership on LinkedIn Learning. Leslie’s latest book, How Change Happens: Why Some Movements Succeed While Other’s Don’t, is tagged in The New York Review of Books as a blueprint for groups inspired to take action on today’s major causes.
The Nonprofit Association of the Midlands is a state association that represents more than 650 nonprofit organizations in Nebraska and southwest Iowa.
