Nebraska Community Foundation Travels to Ogallala

Nebraska Community Foundation (www.nebcommfound.org) staff and board members from across the state convened in Ogallala, Neb. for a two-day quarterly board meeting, April 11-12. Quarterly meetings provide staff and board members an opportunity to discuss recent successes in NCF affiliated communities throughout the state, devise new ways to serve its 224 affiliated funds which directly benefit 251 Nebraska communities in 80 counties, and witness first-hand the extraordinary work of its community based affiliated funds, in this case, Keith County Community Foundation Fund (KCCFF).

Since KCCFF began its work with Nebraska Community Foundation, local volunteers have raised over $1.6 million in charitable assets. The vast majority are held in endowments which will forever provide a steady flow of revenue to meet the needs and opportunities of the residents of Keith County. In the last 12 years, KCCFF has supported 93 projects and worthy causes including the Ogallala Library, Goodall Recreation Center, Ogallala Regional Arts Council and various funds to support local schools and students.

Nebraska Community Foundation’s visit to Ogallala was highlighted by a guided bus tour of Keith County, hosted by KCCFF, which featured a variety of attractions that have received significant support from the fund (pictured here).
