Pet welfare has always been a cause that is near and dear to the hearts of Jennifer and Justin Jones, owners of the local Raising Cane’s franchise. During the 2014 holiday season, the Lincoln restaurants sold plush puppies in which 100% of the net proceeds were donated back to a local pet welfare organization.

In February at the I Love My Dog Expo, Raising Cane’s sponsored the Rescue Round-Up and had the opportunity to present Karl Skinner, President of the Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue (NNKCR) with a check for the net proceeds of the plush puppy sales—$1,352 in total.

Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue (www.nebraskanokill.org) is dedicated to providing foster care and finding forever homes for homeless dogs in Lancaster County, where 100% of all funds donated go toward their rescue efforts and the dogs in their care.

The Lincoln Raising Cane’s Franchise was opened in 2006 by Justin & Jennifer Jones, who moved to Nebraska from Baton Rouge, LA. Since opening their first location, they have set out to make a change in Lincoln by becoming active community leaders and supporting local organizations through donations such as these.
