Nebraska Safety Council Announces Hybrid Online Teen Driver Education Opportunities

The Nebraska Safety Council (www.nesafetycouncil.org) will now be offering a new hybrid learning experience for Teen Driver Education courses in 2020, in addition to the traditional classroom courses. The winter course starts February 1 and the Spring course starts March 7. Students are encouraged to register early. Both courses will take place at the Nebraska Safety Council, 3270 Folkways Blvd. Detailed dates and times are available online.

An additional Spring driver education course will be held March 9–12, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Southwest High School.

Students can opt to complete classroom lessons through a flexible, online How To Drive curriculum. This is the only available course that meets both the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (ADTSEA) and Driving School Association of the Americas (DSAA) National Standards for both content and delivery. They will still engage with instructors in person for behind-the-wheel driving experience.

The Nebraska Safety Council’s mission is to provide education and leadership to empower people to live safe and healthy lives. For information, visit www.nesafetycouncil.org. Contact Lisa Henning at (402) 483-2511 ext. 109 / lhenning@nesafetycouncil.org with any questions.
