The Nebraska Sports Council’s (nebraskasportscouncil.com) annual Pumpkin Run will return Sunday, Sept. 27, bringing thousands of young runners and their families together on Canopy Street in the Railyard in Lincoln for a morning of fitness, fun and fall festivities.
The one-mile event is designed for elementary-aged children, giving participants an opportunity to experience the excitement of a community running event while encouraging an active lifestyle. Runners of all abilities are welcome, with the focus on participation and having fun rather than competition.
The Pumpkin Run has become a fall tradition for many Lincoln-area families and schools. Children can participate alongside classmates and friends while families cheer them on and celebrate their accomplishments at the finish line.
The event is part of the Nebraska Sports Council’s mission to promote healthy, active lifestyles and provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in physical activity.
Registration is open for the 2026 Pumpkin Run. Families, schools and businesses interested in participating or getting involved with the event can find additional information at PumpkinRunLincoln.com.
