Lutheran Family Services (LFS) and the Nebraska Safety Council (NESC) (nesafetycouncil.org) are excited to offer a comprehensive Adult Driver Education course, tailored for Lincoln’s refugee community. This eighthour program is designed for individuals 18 years of age and older who wish to enhance their driving skills, develop safe driving habits and prepare for the DMV Driver’s License Exam. In some cases, completing this course may also help reduce insurance premiums.
John M. Lefler, Jr. shares, “Our collaboration with Lutheran Family Services aligns with our mission to bridge the gap and ensure that all Nebraskans have equal access to driver education. By empowering individuals to secure their driver’s licenses, we foster greater independence and open doors to new opportunities.”
Access to driver education is crucial for everyone. It lays the groundwork for safe driving practices and instills a strong awareness of responsible decision-making behind the wheel. This adult driver education course is an excellent opportunity for both refining existing skills and preparing for the state exam.
With over 145,000 immigrants and refugees residing in Nebraska, reliable and safe transportation is vital for maintaining employment and self-sufficiency. Nebraska Safety Council’s goal is to ensure that everyone can drive with confidence and independence and appreciates its partnership with Lutheran Family Services in making this vision a reality for all Nebraskans.
