Next Training Session Approaching for New CASA Volunteer Advocates

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Lancaster County (www.casa4lancaster.org) is looking for more volunteers! CASA needs caring adult volunteers who are interested in working to provide a voice for children in Juvenile Court. These volunteers will be advocating for the best interests of children who have been abused, neglected, truant and ungovernable. Duties include gathering information about the children’s circumstances and writing reports that give the judges more information and provide recommendations for needed services and next steps. New volunteer training is a 30-hour curriculum presented through a combination of online and in-class learning. In-class sessions are held on Tuesday evenings at the CASA Office. The next session will begin on Tuesday, July 31. For more information, visit www.casa4lancaster.org or contact Dawn Rockey, executive director, at (402) 474-5161 / drockey@casa4lancaster.org.
