The Northeast Family Center is pleased to announce the 2015 “Who’s Smarter than a LPS 5th Grader?” benefit dinner on Thursday, September 17. Open to the public, this event will be held from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Country Club of Lincoln and will feature a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by dinner and Lincoln’s version of “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?”
Gina Sherwood Klein from B107.3’s Morning Show will host, helped by four students from NFC’s Brownell and Norwood Park Community Learning Centers, challenging our local celebrities to correctly answer questions based on the LPS 5th grade curriculum. Attendees will have a chance to watch Archrival co-founder Clint Runge defend his title against LPS Board Member Annie Mumgaard, Randy Hawthorne of the Nonprofit Hub and State Senator Adam Morfeld, as all match wits with students.
The Northeast Family Center is a non-profit organization serving youth and families in the Lincoln community since 1990. Every dollar raised at this event helps to ensure quality programs for those served through programs like Academy of Rock, afterschool learning programs at Brownell and Norwood Park Community Learning Centers, affordable early childhood education and parent support, and weekly food distribution to 160 families each week.
