Northeast Sertomans Support Shrine Children’s Hospital

Lincoln Northeast Sertoma Club (www.northeastsertoma.org) donated $500 to the Sesostris Shrine Hospital in the Twin Cities to assist families with transportation, lodging and meal expense for children treated at this world class medical facility. Shrine Hospitals specialize in orthopaedics, burns, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate care regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

In presenting the check, Sertoma donations chair, Harry Wimer, welcomed the opportunity to acknowledge the exceptional health care provided by Shrine Hospitals across the country.  Joining Jerry Pigsley, member of the NE Sertoma Club and the Sesostris Shrine, in accepting the gift were Drew Borske, Past Potentate for Sesostris Shrine and representative on the Twin Cities Shriners Hospital Board of Governors and Gayle Angus, Sesostris Shrine Hospital Clinic Committee Chairman.

LINCOLN NORTHEAST SERTOMA CLUB celebrates its 46th year of improving the quality of life for those impacted by hearing loss and supporting those in need. Members work event concessions to annually raise and donate $49,000 to numerous worthy human service organizations.

The Club meets weekly from 7-8 a.m. Thursdays at the HyVee community room, 5010 “O” Street.  Program speakers are public/private sector leaders making a difference in our community. Guests are welcome.
