People’s City Mission (pcmlincoln.org) is excited to announce the overwhelming success of its annual Back to School Bash, held August 8, 2025. Thanks to the generosity of donors and volunteers, the event equipped hundreds of local children with the tools they need to start the school year with confidence. This year, the Mission received an incredible 808 backpacks filled with essential school supplies. In addition, families benefitted from thousands of donated items, including more than 1,800 pencils, 920 notebooks, 980 folders, and hundreds of crayons, markers, glue sticks, and even brand-new shoes. The Back to School Bash served children both at the Mission’s Help Center and at the family shelter, ensuring that students across Lincoln had access to the resources needed for a successful school year. As an added blessing, children currently staying at the shelter were treated to free haircuts, helping 75 young students head into the classroom with renewed confidence and pride.
“Because of the compassion of our community, hundreds of children will step into the classroom ready to learn,” said Pastor Tom.
