Valentino’s recently teamed up with the People’s City Mission to make sure those who were homeless this holiday season were able to enjoy a wonderful meal on Christmas day. Both Valentino’s and People’s City Mission would like to thank all of those who brought a wealth of food items from the list of requested holiday treats to all of the twelve Valentino’s locations in Lincoln–you all truly made a difference in the lives of so many. People’s City Mission takes pride in providing holiday dinners each year to those who wouldn’t be able to enjoy a meal in the company of others otherwise.
People’s City Mission was founded in 1907 and serves as Lincoln’s primary homeless shelter. PCM provides emergency housing for nearly 350 homeless men, women, and children every night of the year. Its Homeless Prevention Center offers free food, clothing and household items to people with incomes below 150% of the U.S. poverty line. PCM receives most of its funding from private donations and gets about 90% of their funds directly to the people who need them.
