Every year, People’s City Mission partners with Hy-Vee for Gimme Shelter, a 24-hour outdoor event dedicated to raising awareness and support for individuals experiencing homelessness during the hottest months of the year. Gimme Shelter will be taking place June 19th 20th from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the HyVee on 84th and Holdridge.
People’s City Mission expresses that the goal of this event is to provide water to individuals experiencing homelessness in the summer heat. When the heat becomes dangerous, access to something as basic as water can mean survival.
Individuals are encouraged to stop by and have a conversation with Pastor Tom on June 19th – 20th from 9am-9am at Hy-Vee.
