Breakthrough T1D is thrilled to bring the Breakthrough T1D Walk back to the local Lincoln community! Join over 1,500 people to help find cures for type 1 diabetes (T1D) at this year’s Breakthrough T1D Walk on Sunday, October 18. The Walk aims to raise awareness for T1D and fund research to cure, treat and prevent T1D and its complications.

T1D is an autoimmune disease that is diagnosed in both children and adults and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. If you have T1D, your pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. This means you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, inject or infuse insulin from a pump and carefully monitor your eating and activity every single day.

By joining Breakthrough T1D Walk, you become part of a community driving change for those affected by T1D. Together, funds are raised and awareness for type 1 diabetes, fueling progress toward life-changing cures. Register for the Walk today at walk. BreakthroughT1D.org/lincoln!
