SCHEELS Sponsors Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon for Matt Talbot

On May 22, Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org) honored their volunteers at an appreciation luncheon, sponsored by and hosted at SCHEELS. The SCHEELS team rolled out the red carpet with a beautiful buffet lunch from Ginna’s Café and Fudge Shop and a free Ferris Wheel token for each guest.

During the program, Matt Talbot’s Executive Director Susanne Blue thanked the volunteers for their efforts: “Your open hearts, your compassionate and generous spirits, your tolerant attitudes, and your willingness to get your hands dirty on the front lines of service to the poorest in our community is an inspiration to me and countless others.”

Volunteers have always been the heart and soul of Matt Talbot, and 2018 was no exception. Approximately 3,000 volunteers provided more than 35,000 hours of service to Matt Talbot. Most of those volunteers are part of one of Matt Talbot’s nearly 100 hunger relief teams, but volunteers also provide support for Matt Talbot’s outreach, administrative and fundraising activities.
