Shepherd’s Rest Goat and Sheep Rescue Obtains Official 501(c)(3) Status

Shepherd’s Rest Goat and Sheep Rescue (shepherdsrestrescue.com) recently obtained its official status as a 501(c)(3) organization. Founder Jen Schurman and all the staff at Shepherd’s Rest are excited for what this new identification as a nonprofit means for the growth of the organization.

Shepherd’s Rest Goat and Sheep Rescue is all about bringing together animals and humans in a way that is healing for both. The rescue has expanded along with their outreach efforts, which now include goat yoga classes at the Gateway Mall and cubicle cuddle sessions that bring goats to an office setting to offer a little therapy and laughter to office staff.

Shepherd’s Rest Goat and Sheep Rescue exists to rescue, rehabilitate, adopt, and provide sanctuary for goats and sheep in need. They also offer education to the public about goats and sheep as therapy animals, provide qualified animal-assisted therapy, and train others to provide qualified animal-assisted therapy with sheep and goats adopted through their program.
