Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center to Host Fall Fest

Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center (springcreek.audubon.org/events) in Denton, NE is excited to host Fall Fest, an annual family event focused on exploring the tallgrass prairie at sunset and celebrating the return of the fall season. The event takes place on September 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. and the suggested donation to attend is $5. Reservations are not required and attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic as food will not be available.

There are several activities planned for the event focused around the theme “A Prairie Plant Party,” from catching insects to painting with natural materials. There will be native plants available for purchase in addition to a plants and seeds giveaway. Local community students from Spring Creek Prairie’s summer camp program will be assisting in the giveaway and presenting their camp bird projects. Fall Fest will also feature wagon rides around the prairie, live music, a live bird show, and more.

Meghan Sittler, center director at Spring Creek Prairie, said, “It’s a perfect event to get kids interested in bugs, birds, the prairie, and so much more.”
