The Lincoln community is fortunate to have wonderful agencies throughout the city, such as Disrupting Traffick (DisruptingTraffick.org), to fill needs that otherwise would go unanswered.

But it is not lost on many of the local agencies that these needs cannot be met without the support of community champions that volunteer, donate and sponsor events citywide. It truly takes a village! Many agencies host annual events that not only support their budget but carry their agency client service expenses through the year.

Disrupting Traffick’s largest fundraiser of the year is Thursday, October 1st, at Venue 5 Twenty-Two. The Standing in Freedom Gala invites community members to celebrate Disrupting Traffick’s victories and to learn more about how the community can help disrupt the cycle of exploitation in Nebraska. Individual tickets can be purchased online through their “events” tab at DisruptingTraffick.org.

Sponsorship table options are available and receive business recognition. Please contact Nichole at nichole@disruptingtraffick.org for more information.

By sharing one night out with your friends, co-workers and/or family you will help support multiple nights of safe emergency shelter for trafficking survivors in Nebraska. Traffickers exploit the vulnerable circumstances that many women in the community are facing.

Disrupting Traffick’s Safe House and Resource Center offers immediate, tangible support to women and their children to help fill the gaps so traffickers cannot exploit these difficult circumstances.
