Summer may be heating up, but so is the cosmic fun at Branched Oak Observatory (theboo.org), just northwest of Lincoln! With the skies wide open and celestial wonders waiting, we invite the public to enjoy our extended summer hours now through Labor Day. Whether you’re a lifelong stargazer or just looking for something cool (literally and astronomically), our summer lineup is your ticket to the stars.

Summer Hours:

  • Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays: 6 to 11 p.m.
  • Solar Sundays: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. — featuring safe solar viewing and activities for all ages!

What’s Hot at The BOO?

  • Gaze through high-powered digital and solar telescopes
  • Experience our famous Silent Book Club every third Friday—bring your book, find your quiet and read under the stars
  • Hold a real meteorite—Mike the Meteorite is waiting to meet you!
  • Explore our gift shop for official Time Traveler Gear—because yes, when you look into deep space, you’re literally looking back in time!

Admission is just $5—and if you love what you see (and we think you will), you can convert that into a Friends of the BOO Pass to support ongoing events and outreach.

Location: 14300 NW 98th St., Raymond, Nebraska

Visit us at theboo.org to explore upcoming events, connect to our social media and plan your visit.

Join us this summer. Come for the stars, stay for the magic.

We promise—it’s out of this world.
