TeamMates Mentoring of Lincoln Seeks Business Partnerships

TeamMates Mentoring of Lincoln (LincolnTeamMates.org) is seeking local businesses that are willing to host recruitment presentations for their staff members. The organization provides youth in grades 3-12 with a one-on-one adult mentor who visits one class period weekly, providing support and encouragement. With a TeamMate, students’ school engagement and indicators of hope and well-being increase.

In the 2020-2021 school year, TeamMates served 1,295 students across Lincoln, but aims to increase the number of youth with a TeamMate this year.

“When a company enables their employees to volunteer during the work day, they affirm their mission and values to the community,” said Lincoln TeamMates Coordinator Jim Bennett. “Staff members volunteering through TeamMates benefit all involved.”

Employees who mentor bring tremendous benefits to their company workforce and productivity. Results of annual surveys continuously demonstrate that after their mentoring visits, TeamMates mentors return to work more engaged, hopeful, and in a better mood.
