On September 27, Amigos (amingoskings.com) announced a major donation to the TeamMates Mentoring Program (teammates.org), with funds raised through sales of its limited edition Nebraska Legends Cups. For every cup sold at 24 Nebraska locations since July 30, fifty cents was directed to TeamMates, the nonprofit co-founded by Dr. Tom Osborne and his wife Nancy in 1991.

At the celebration event, held at Amigos’ Old Cheney Road location, Dr. Tom Osborne and TeamMates CEO DeMoine Adams accepted a check symbolizing the community’s support for youth mentoring. The TeamMates Program, which serves 10,000 students across 186 chapters in six states, provides school-based mentoring that has impacted more than 51,000 students since its inception.

Following the check presentation, Osborne also drew the name of the VIP Game Day Grand Prize winner from Amigos’ Legends Cup promotion. The contest featured 24 semi-finalists who had earned a year of free food through the  Am igos app, with one finalist ultimately awarded premium Husker tickets and fan experiences.

“Our Big Red spirit is shining bright with thousands of amigos clamoring to support TeamMates.” said Amigos COO Matt Keslar. “Not only are we proud to offer collector cups depicting athletic legends, but we’re chipping away at the number of youths seeking an adult mentor, and we need to keep working to match 500 kids still on the TeamMates’ waitlist.”

The event highlighted Amigos’ commitment to local communities and underscored how customer support for the Legends Cups directly contributed to the TeamMates mission of matching more students with mentors. For more information, visit (teammates.org) or (amingoskings.com).
