TeamMates Mentoring of Lincoln (LincolnTeamMates.org) would like to thank Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs, Slim Chickens, and the Olive Garden for donating food for their recent Fall Kickoff mentor recognition event.

“Food helps bring people together,” said Cath Gebers, a TeamMates staff member who helped organize the evening on August 9. “We really appreciate local businesses and franchises stepping up to support our volunteers’ service.”

“At Goodcents and PILLAR Restaurant Group, we believe that helping Lincoln’s nonprofit organizations benefits our city, especially when they are striving to make our community better,” said Erica Aldana, Manager of Goodcents. “We have helped so many organizations in the past and will always continue to do our part when we can.”

Over 100 TeamMates volunteer mentors enjoyed Goodcents sandwiches and cookies, Slim Chickens macaroni and cheese, and salads from Olive Garden while hearing from TeamMates co-founder Tom Osborne, CEO DeMoine Adams, and a youth panel.

“Our Fall Kickoff serves as a way to thank mentors and also get them pumped up for another school year of mentoring,” said Gebers. “We’re lucky to have support from the community to help us do so.”
