In 1987, March was designated as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The Arc of Lincoln (arclincoln.org) is committed to this effort to increase public awareness of the needs and the potential of Americans with developmental disabilities (DD). The Arc of Lincoln invites the community to provide encouragement and opportunities needed for people with people with DD to achieve their full potential by supporting March as Developmental Disability Awareness Month.
The Arc of Lincoln’s activities will include a DD Recognition Yard Sign Fundraiser and Display during the first week of March. To purchase an Arc of Lincoln yard sign for $20, call (402) 421-8866.
On March 8, join The Arc of Lincoln and advocate for DD at the Senatorial Day and Dinner at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel.
Finally on March 23, families and friends are invited to support the cause while dining at Don & Millie’s at 8150 O St. and 5200 S. 56th St. from 3 to 8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will go towards The Arc of Lincoln and DD fundraising.
