The Arc of Nebraska to Host 50th Annual Senatorial Dinner February 2
The Arc of Nebraska (arclincoln.org), committed to carrying out the widespread mission of empowering people with disabilities and their families, will host its 50th Annual Senatorial Dinner virtually on February 2 at noon. The guest speaker will Anthony Iann, a two-time Big Ten Champion, a Big Ten Tournament Champion, and a member of the 2010 Final Four team. He won the 2011 Tim Bograkos Walk On award and the 2012 Unsung Player award. At the age of four, Anthony was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), which is on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). Doctors and specialists told Anthony’s parents that he would barely graduate from high school, would never graduate from college, would never have a shot at being an athlete, and would likely live in a group institution with other Autistic kids for his adult life. Attendees will be moved by this inspiring story. Tickets can be found online at www.arc-nebraska.org.
For over 60 years, The Arc of Nebraska has provided advocacy to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc of Lincoln works locally to ensure children and adults with disabilities have lives filled with positive, fulfilling relationships and broad social networks. The organization makes it possible for them to participate in a variety of recreational, educational, and employment activities that permit them to exercise personal choice and achieve their full potential. The staff and volunteers for The Arc are proud to be a part of the organization and find their work meaningful. To learn more about other events or ways to get involved, visit arclincoln.org.
