The David Staenberg Family Foundation was created to help dyslexic youth have the opportunity to attend college. Recently, they award three scholarships each year—two in Omaha and one in Lincoln—while expanding their mission to serve veterans and our community.
“This work is deeply personal,” David Staenberg says. “As a 100% service-connected disabled veteran who has experienced homelessness, I understand the importance of community support, and I believe in giving that back.”
They focus on providing a hand up, not just a handout. Through the Vet Center, they fund 50–60 Dave Ramsey financial literacy courses each year. They also support homeless veterans with ready-to-eat food, blankets, clothing, and essential supplies. In addition, they provide around 150 food pantry kits to veteran organizations in Lincoln.
Much of what they do is done anonymously. It’s not about recognition. It’s about impact.
They host multiple food drives each year and support nonprofits facing food shortages. Every dollar raised goes directly back into the community.
The self-funded newsletter, supported by sponsors, reaches over 13,000 people and helps fuel their mission.
